What subjects/ages do you offer tuition for?
Maths and English for children aged 5-16. I offer help for the 11+, 13+, CAT4, SATs and other entrance exams. I'm also more than happy to help with GCSE Mathematics, English Language and English Literature. Let me know what you need help with! (Note: if you're in need of GCSE English tuition, please get in touch first so that I can run through set texts & exam board specifics with you. This is particularly important in the case of English Literature.)
What methods do you use to tutor?
Several different tutoring methods are used depending on the age, ability and confidence of the child, as well as the subject. I use a graphic tablet to write out and explain tricky concepts which can be viewed easily on your child's screen. This helps in understanding the fundamentals of whatever they may be stuck on as opposed to just memorisation. I then use a variety of practice/exam questions, PowerPoint slides, worksheets and educational games to solidify knowledge in the subject area. As a result I can deliver 100% personalised sessions each time to maximise enjoyment and productivity!
What is your background?
I have worked as a tutor in the Sale and Altrincham areas of Greater Manchester for several years, supporting children and helping them to achieve their potential. I also have experience working in local schools in Altrincham, Hale and Bowdon running breakfast and after-school clubs. I am very passionate about supporting young learners and so Aspire Academy was born: to do just that! I am also fully DBS checked (enhanced check certificate).
When is tuition available?
Tuition is available Monday - Friday (4:00 PM - 9:00 PM) and Saturday (9:30 AM - 6:00 PM). I will work with you to schedule your session(s) at a time most convenient for you.
Holiday hours vary; generally I'll be available all day unless I tell you otherwise. I don't tutor on Sunday unless it's urgent (e.g an exam on Monday!).
